B.Ed. Mathematics

    WEEK 8 - (31/07/2023 - 04/08/2023) On this week, I started revision on all the chapters and it helps the students to focus on their weaker topics. On Monday, there was special assembly as a part of birthday of Indian writer, Premchand. On Wednesday, the school celebrated SPC day. Several programs were conducted related to SPC day. Since it was the last week of our second phase internship, we have taken the signature and seal for the respective records and papers from the Headmistress. We distributed sweets for the students and teachers. The students shared their feedbacks and I am very thankful to the teaching and non teaching staffs of the school. We completed 37 days of School Internship (Phase 2) in GHSS, Mangad on this week and it was really a great experience for me as a student teacher.

    WEEK 7 - (24/07/23 - 29/07/23) On this week I completed the chapter 'Polygons' . On Monday, General teacher from our college visited our school. On Wednesday, I conducted an achievement test for the students from the chapters 'Equations' and 'Polygons'. All the students actively attended the exam. There was holiday on Friday due to Muharam. Optional teacher of Physical science from our college visited our school for class observation of other trainee during this week.

  WEEK 6 (19/07/2023 - 22/07/2023) On this week, I completed upto the section 'Unchanging Sum' . Activities were given to the students to elicit their knowledge during this week. There were two holidays in this week. On Tuesday, Government declared public holiday due to demise of Sri Oommen Chandy, Former Chief minister of Kerala. From wednesday onwards, Mid term examination started in the school. The exams are held in afternoon session. There was a special assembly on Friday on behalf of Moon day. As a part of Moon day, a science exhibition was conducted on school ground. The Mid term exam was over on Saturday. I also collected samples from the students required for my project during this week.

  WEEK   5 (10/07/2023 - 14/07/2023) On this week I completed the sections 'sum of angles' and 'outer angles'. Activities were given and students answered the questions brilliantly. On Monday I conducted a diagnostic test from the chapters 'Equations' and 'Polygons'. There was a special assembly on Tuesday on behalf of World population day. On Wednesday ' Honesty Shop' was inaugurated by school HM. Our College Principal visited our school during this week.

  WEEK 4  (03/07/2023 - 07/07/2023) On this week I completed the chapter 'Equations' and started the next chapter 'Polygons'. Social science optional teacher from our college came to see the class as a part of observation. There was a special assembly on Wednesday on behalf of Basheer 's Memory day. District collector declared holiday on Thursday due to heavy rain during this week.  On 07-07-2023, there is an awareness class conducted by the officers in Excise department to the students of 8th and 9th class on the topic of Drugs and alcohol use.

   Week 3  (26/09/2023 - 01/07/2023) On this week I covered the sections 'algebraic method' and 'different problems'. Activities were given to check the knowledge level of students.  Special Assembly was conducted on World Anti Drugs Day. Various campaigns, rallies and awareness programs are conducted on our school. Students prepared slogans on the topic anti drug day. PTA president Rajesh sir inaugurated the program.  Math's club was inaugurated on Friday. There were two holidays in this week due to Eid- Mubarak. Saturday was working day on this week. Our optional teacher visited our school for class observation during this week.

  Week 2  (19/06/2023 - 23/06/2023) On this week I completed the sections 'multiplication and division', 'different changes' and started the section 'algebraic method'. I also used Power point presentation to teach a topic during this week. International Yoga day were celebrated on Wednesday by conducting a special assembly.  In this week, National Reading Day was celebrated. Conducted assembly including Prayer, Pledge, National Anthem, Special speech by the PTA President, Rajesh sir. Hm talks to the children about the importance of reading.  Social science club was inaugurated on Thursday. There was an educational strike on Friday, so we did our works.

  WEEK 1   (14/06/2023 - 16/06/2023) As a part of our B.Ed curriculum the second phase of school internship programme started on 14th June 2023. Five of us Hemandh J S, Tijo Thomas, Naveen M S, Nikhil M S and Gayathry were assigned to the school, Govt:H.S.S Mangad. This was our first week of first phase of teaching practice. We reached the school at 9.30am and signed the register. We met our concerned teachers in the school. The teachers were motivating and friendly.    I was allotted to take classes for Standard VIII.A. I was assigned to teach two chapters namely 'Equations' and 'Polygons'. I completed upto the section adition and substraction of the chapter Polygons during this week.   WEEK 8  (20/02/23 - 24/02/23) On this week I completed the portions of class 9 and I started revision. On 20th Monday, we conducted a programme as per our syllabus EDU 12 related to the topic 'Citizenship Training - Duties and Rights of Indian citizens' on class 9. Our General and Physical education teacher visited our school for class observation during this week. We completed 40 days of School Internship (Phase I) in GHSS Mangad on this week and it was really a great experience for me as a student teacher.

  WEEK 7  (13/02/23 - 17/02/23) On this week, I completed the chapter 'Real Numbers' started the next chapter named 'Prisms'. On 15th Wednesday, we have conducted a conscientization programme on climate change on class 8. Students were actively participated in the programme. Optional teacher of physical science from our college came for class observation of other trainee on this week.

PLUS ONE : SEQUENCE AND SERIES PLUS TWO : MATRICES   A concept map or conceptual diagram is a diagram that depicts suggested relationships between concepts. Concept maps may be used by instructional designers,  engineers, technical writers and others to organize and structure knowledge. A concept map typically represents ideas and information as boxes or circles, which it connects with labeled arrows, often in a downward branching hierarchical structure but also in free form maps. They are a powerful study strategy because they help us see that big picture: by starting with higher level concepts, concept maps help you chunk information based on meaningful connections.

  WEEK 6 (6/02/2023 - 10/02/2023) On this week I completed the chapter 'New Numbers' and an achievement test was also conducted based on the chapters I have taught. On 7th Tuesday, we the trainees of FMTC conducted an awareness class related to COVID -19 through PPT. Students were actively participated and the programme was successful. From 8th february onwards I started to teach the chapter 'Real Numbers' in the class 9 .

 WEEK 5 (30/01/2023 - 3/02/2023) On this week I taught the portions upto new multiplication of the chapter 'Negative numbers' .   On 1st Wednesday , optional teacher of Social Science from our college visited the school for class observation of other trainees.  On 2nd Thursday , my optional teacher visited the school for second time as a part of class observation. The class went really well. Activities were given and students answered the questions brilliantly.

WEEK 4   (23/01/2023 - 27/01/2023) I started the second chapter 'Negative Numbers' during this week.. On 25th there was anniversary celebration at school. On 26th, a small programme related to Republic day were also conducted in the school premises. On this week, I also conducted a diagnostic test of both the chapters 'Area of Quadrilaterals' and 'Negative Numbers'.

SUM OF INNER ANGLES OF A POLYGON Innovative work is used to transact contents in a more concrete way. This innovative work creates a clear idea about polygons, their construction, and sum of inner angles of any polygon . It also helps in validating the formula for finding the sum of inner angles of a polygon and thus helps students in the concretization of abstract ideas. It also provides opportunities for self learning and increases speed and accuracy of students. It enables cooperative learning and gives a deep understanding of the concept to students.

  WEEK 3   (16/01/2023 - 20/01/2023) On this week I completed the chapter 'Area of Quadrilaterals'. Teacher trainees of other subjects came for observation as a part of their Peer observation. I also went to their classes as a part of Peer observation during this week.

  WEEK 2   (9/01/2023 - 13/01/2023) On this week I completed the topics Rhombus and Trapezium from the chapter Area of Quadrilaterals. My Optional teacher from our college came to see my class as a part of observation during this week. The class went really well.  I also used PowerPoint presentation and more activities to teach the topics during this week.

  WEEK 1   (3/01/2023 - 7/01/2023) My teaching practice in the new year started by seeing the children who came to school with the joy after celebrating the Christmas holiday and the New year. I was confident that I could take the classes well. My first internship programme was at Govt HSS Mangad. Along with me, there are four other trainees from our college. I was allotted to take classes for Standard VIII B. The Mathematics teacher of the school assigned me to take two chapters. I started the chapter Area of Quardrilaterals and I covered upto the section Area of Square of the chapter on first week. Along with teaching I also provided activities to students to elicit their knowledge. In this week I was able to get better at taking classes and managing the students.
